When I click on the IPA “Pronunciation Key” link for Dictionary.com Unabridged results, some of the characters appear to be broken. How can I see these characters properly?

The Dictionary.com Unabridged “Pronunciation Key” uses Unicode fonts which allow us to display a vast range of characters, letters, digits, glyphs, symbols, etc., from many different languages.

Some Unicode support has been included in Microsoft Windows since Windows 95 - Windows NT 4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP are all based on Unicode. Mac OS has provided some support for Unicode since Mac OS 8.5, but prior to Mac OS X, only limited use has been made of it by applications.

To take full advantage of Dictionary.com Unabridged’s functionality, earlier users of Windows are encouraged to download and install the freely available True Type font from this site: http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/wells/lsansuni.ttf.
